Life is good... The housemates and I are moving to a new place in East Meadow so everything is upside down right now. I thought moving out of the dorm was hard, try moving an entire house!!!!! LOL
Stephen and I are doing great, of course we have our ups and downs, but hey, what relationship doesn't. I am head over heals in love with him (baby I know you're reading this, but I had to let the world know :-P) and its all good. We went to North Carolina with David and Alona and had a great time. I even went to 2 bars! (yes, I went out, go figure!). The place was gooooorgeous and its the vacation we all needed.
Now I'm gonna go back to moving more stuff to the new place... once everything is in place you should definitely come visit!!!! :)

Everything is finally looking up in my life... the break up was horrible, letting go of a relationship that was meant to last forever, when someone tells you and asks you to spend the rest of your lives together, when you have plans for your future, and everything ends with a phone call.... it was horrible.
BUT
everything is looking up right now. I work out every day, I sent my application for the Adelphi MSW program, and other things in my life (which will be updated about when the time is right), have made me realize that I am the luckiest girl in the world. I have amazing people by my side that always remind me that I am worth it, and for the first time in a veeeery long time, I feel great about myself... both about how I am on the inside and how I look on the outside.... I know that being worried about how I look on the outside sounds very shallow, but after years and years of eating disorders and low selt-esteem, the fact that I feel this way is very important for me.
In other words... I am HAPPY. |

I will not be going back to Law School... It just wasn't for me... I'm gonna be in NY this semester for as long as they allow me to stay with my Visitor's visa, which should be 6 months tops. I'm looking into an MSW instead, hoping AU will take me back... if it doesn't, then its back to Chile I go... for good.
There are lots of reasons to why I have made this decision, both not going back and going for an MSW, but now its not the time or place to discuss them... maybe later on... right now, everything its too confusing...
Oh, and I get back to NY on Sunday... |

New York Law School celebrated "National Talk Like a Pirate Day" today... when I say they celebrated it, I mean decorations all over the student center, staff at the cafeteria and other departments wearing pirate hats, flyers all over the place, and if you made a pirate sound, they would give you free pirate booty chips...

law school is killing me already... the nightmare started with a 3 1/2 day of intensive "law school preparation" classes, which start at 9:30am and don't stop until 4:00pm. The classes are basically reading a couple of cases and analyzing them to the point where I want to kill myself. We've spent the last 2 days discussing whether or not you can sue a restaurant if a fish bone lodges on your throat and you need medical intervention because of it, even if its minor. You know what I've learned? to be careful when you eat fish.
What was I thinking?! I hate it so far. I understand that to be a lawyer you have to study every aspect of the law, but I a sick of reading about the "Implied Warranty of Merchantability" and crap like that... its so exhausting... and terrifying...
If law school is anything like the last 2 days, I think I might die...
I start orientation on the 15th, for which I have to do an obscene amount of reading for which I am not thrilled about. After that, I start a semester full of torts, contracts, civil procedure, legal research, and legal writing....

I'm having surgery on Wednesday (hopefully for the last time) on my eyes. If everything goes well, as I mentioned before, that will be the very last time I have to deal with a bunch of doctors putting me to sleep and poking through my eyes and all that fun stuff.
Oh well, I wont have to wear my thick glasses anymore... and hey, I'll be in a deep slumber for 2 whole hours plus a day or two of just laying in bed and relaxing while all the bruises on my face and the redness on my eyes go away.
I get to lay in bed and do NOTHING for a while...
I'm loving this deal :-P |
